- Assignment instructions and other relevant information is obtained and reviewed.
- Installation specifications and configuration requirements are obtained and confirmed.
- Equipment, cabling and connection requirements are identified and confirmed to be in accordance with installation documentation.
- Proposed configurations are checked against the operational parameters and specifications of the networked security system.
- Configure network.
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) issues are identified and appropriate risk control measures implemented in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Tools, equipment and testing devices are selected and checked for correct operation and safety.
- Program parameters are identified and verified from security system design and existing infrastructure.
- Appropriate software is installed and programmed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
- Networked security system is configured in accordance with assignment instructions.
- Networked security system is tested to determine correct configuration and operational capability.
- Inspect and test network.
- Inspections are undertaken to ensure networked security system configuration is in accordance with assignment instructions and relevant standards.
- Configuration faults or deficiencies are identified and documented in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Notification of work completion is made in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Work area is cleaned and restored in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Waste is collected, treated and disposed of in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Relevant records and reports are completed and securely maintained in accordance with organisational procedures.
